Kota Kinabalu: The 2022 Chinese New Year Dragon, Unicorn and Lion Dance Festival hosted by the Association of the United Chinese Communities of Sabah Kota Kinabalu (USCCAKK) will be broadcast live for the people of Sabah to enjoy the performances and immerse yourself in the feast of the Chinese New Year. USCCAKK President Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said the highly anticipated event could only be held at half the site’s capacity per standard operating procedures (SOP) due to Covid-19 . “So after the USCCAKK got the approval from the state government to host the event, the association decided to broadcast the performance live so that the people of Sabah could watch the lion dance,” wherever they are.

Meanwhile, Liang recalled attending the event in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and praised USCCAKK’s efforts to preserve and promote Chinese cultural activities in Sabah. He also pledged to sponsor and support the Chinese New Year Dragon, Unicorn and Lion Dance Festival this year. USCCAKK Vice President and Organizing President Datuk Chua Soon Ping and Vice Consul General Wu Xiaoqing were also present at the courtesy visit.
